How do you do Asteroid ?
I have the same mobo but my Pentium 3 S is not well working : the max frequency is 700 (!) MHz. If I try higher it doesn't boot.
Which BIOS do you have ?

william,

have you tried your cmos and dip switch settings? in order for you to be able to adjust cpu settings on the cmos, you must set your dip switches to jumper free mode. 700mhz is the lowest you can get using auto settings. normally, your cpu will boot to 1050mhz if your bios is not the latest (1003) which has a support for PIII 1.2g. you can try putting your settings to manual on the cmos and try the different cpu/bandwidth combination. don't worry, your system will just hang if you did not get the proper combination and you will just have to try another setting. good luck.

PIIIS 1.4/512 compatibility

The last word in Tualatin, the 1.4GHz PIIIS with the 512 cache will in fact work on this board.

latest BIOS, of course, and "back back transaction" whatever that is, must be disabled in the BIOS.

This exact setup has run here overclocked to 1.51 folding 24/7 for years
